Russians rescued from sailing boat

TWO Russian nationals were rescued on Friday afternoon after their sailing boat capsized in the sea area between Limassol and Ayios Georgios Alamanos.

The two were in good health but were taken to hospital for a medical check as a precaution.

The operation started at 6.20pm and ended at 8pm. Two police helicopters and three boats were used in the rescue.

The sailing boat was towed to shore.
