One step away from your career

The job market is hard and if you are a student or fresh graduate, it is twice as hard because you don’t have the experience of working or the social skills needed to help you make that first step up the career ladder.

That is why the University of Cyprus will have a career day on Tuesday and Wednesday, offering two full-packed days to provide anyone who is starting out in the working world with the tools they need to go forward.

There will be presentations by industry professionals on matters like market research, how to become a successful European programme’s consultant, how a company can be based locally but operate globally and what technological trends are now present in the market and what career opportunities can come from this.

If you already have a CV, take a copy with you so you can get professional advice, or if you don’t have one, this could be your chance to start building one that will land you your first job. After your CV has gotten you the interview, your next challenge is to know how to impress. You will get to know how to do this during mock interviews.

A number of leading company representatives will also be present during the career fair, so you can ask them questions about their companies see if you think you could fit into their work environment and maybe have your first chance to use the skills you gained during your mock interview and get the networking process really going.
