A trip among landscapes

On Monday, artist Savvas Lazouras will showcase his work under the name I Cosmos at the Melina Merkouri Hall in Nicosia.

In this exhibition Lazouras will exhibit 11 pieces of art from 2015, as well as two pieces from previous years. All the oil paintings on show display landscapes. The places depicted are either locations from Lazouras’ memory or thought-up places “which came to me while watching television programmes or when looking at comics,” the artist explains.

Lazouras, from Nicosia, “showed interest in painting and art from an early age. This love of art created a number of pieces which were published in the school paper,” the artist recalls.

The artist started his studies in design in Athens and then moved on to the V Surikov Moscow State Academy Art Institute.

A number of Lazouras’ art works can be found in private collections in Cyprus, Russia, America, Italy and Spain.
The exhibition will remain open until Sunday.
