Tender for sport ID card

The Cyprus Sports Organisation (KOA) has awarded the contract for the football fan identity card to Space Hellas – Hellenic Technical Enterprises Ltd, it was announced on Wednesday.

KOA said the group had submitted the “most financially advantageous bid”.

Last August, Justice Minister Ionas Nicolaou said that eight companies had expressed interest in the project.

The introduction of an identity card for sports fans, passed last year as part of an anti-hooligan bill, is opposed by the organised supporters of all major football clubs.
