EAC operating limited customer service in Nicosia, Larnaca and Limassol

The Electricity Authority of Cyprus said that its customer service outlets in Nicosia, Strovolos and Larnaca will open for service as of 11:30 a.m. while those in the Limassol and Famagusta districts would open at 12.15 and remain open until 13:45 p.m.

The outlets in Paphos, Polis, Platres and Kakopetria will remain closed because of the travel distance, the company said in an emailed statement on Monday. “The public is requested to proceed to the outlets only in emergencies,” EAC said.

Customer service outlets remained shut on Monday morning as workers at the state-owned power producer assembled to discuss further action to protest the government’s intention to break up the company into two separate corporations, one in charge of production and supply and another in charge of distribution.
