Troodos roads open only to 4WDs

DUE to weather conditions, roads to Troodos are only available for vehicles with tire chains or four wheel drives, police said on Friday.

Specifically, the advisory concerns Karvouna – Troodos, Platres – Troodos and Prodromou – Troodos.

The announcement warned the public to drive slowly and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles while in the meantime, if necessary they should keep their headlights on.

Motorists are also advised to check bulletins, posted on the police website (www.police.gov.cy), Facebook page (Facebook.com/cypruspolice), Twitter account (twitter.com/Cyprus_Police) and App ‘Cyprus Police’.
