On Christmas Day we’re all sure to get some presents that we just can’t wait to try on, take for a spin or whatever else you’d like to do with the contents of Santa’s sleigh. And, since Boxing Day is just one day away from the big day – how convenient – here’s a list of what you can get up to while trying out those new gifts.
First off, the Golden Donkeys Farm in Skarinou will be welcoming us all and our families for photos with Santa, live music with three-piece Cypriot band Between Loops, a traditional Cypriot buffet, and more. Traditional products from the Larnaca Rural Women’s Association will be on sale, as well as donkey milk products and, of course, donkey rides – so remember to bring the selfie stick along to get everyone in the family photo. Plus, each donkey has its own name so make sure you get him or her in the shot and then you tag the donkey by name on social media.
The benefits of donkey milk to our health and beauty are many (it can keep the skin looking young and shiny), and the farm offers products to satisfy both, with cosmetics, chocolates, and donkey milk liqueur (no, really).
Entrance is free, and the day will start at 11am and end at 5pm with everyone going home very content with a festive day well spent.
Poseidonia Beach Hotel in Limassol is where all Russian families should be heading – as well as any other families who would like to know more about Russian culture – as a New Year gala dinner under the name ‘Russian Fairytales’ will be giving us all a ticket to a land far, far away.
The whole family can get to meet Ded Moroz – a Slavic fictional character similar to Santa – his granddaughter Snegurochka (the Snow Maiden), and the villain Baba Yaga (a female supernatural being).
In this fairytale land there will be a family dinner and local drinks, an array of entertainment for the kids, and adults can also have fun trying to spot Lady Luck with their lottery ticket in hand.
The last event on the list is one where you’ll be able to look on the past with fondness and hope for things to come. End the month, and the year, with a Nostalgia party, and this time dance the night away with songs from the 70s and 80s.
This is the second time that D Claudio and Mr Fox will be taking Limassol to the days of music gone by. For those of you who lived through the disco era, welcome back. For those of you who didn’t have the chance, you have a lot to look forward to.
