Drunk driver arrested

A 57-year-old man was arrested in Nicosia on Wednesday after he was found driving under the influence of alcohol, without wearing a seatbelt, and without registration and insurance.

The man was arrested after he was found intoxicated during a routine traffic control on the Palaichori – Nicosia road.

The initial breathalyser he was given indicated 148mg of alcohol instead of the permitted 22mg.

The man, police said, faces charges for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without registration and without insurance, and for driving without a seatbelt.
