Gym owner arrested for Moldavian’s murder

POLICE on Thursday evening arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with the murder of Moldavian national Daniella Rosca earlier this month.

According to a police bulletin, the suspect – a Greek Cypriot and owner of a gym in Larnaca – was the last person to speak on the phone with Rosca.

The suspect is set to appear before a court on Friday for his remand hearing.

Rosca, who worked as a beautician in Larnaca, was on November 1 found tied in the bedroom of her third-floor flat in the McKenzie area by two friends who had been unable to contact her over the weekend.

State pathologists concluded that she died from asphyxiation due to inhaling blood and a head wound, and placed her death 12 hours prior to being discovered.

Police believe the murdered woman knew the victim because no signs of a break-in were found at the crime scene.
