Man accuses fellow villager in shooting incident

A 67-YEAR-OLD man from Avgorou, Famagusta, sustained gunshot wounds on Monday afternoon, while working in his field.

He claimed the shot was fired deliberately by another Avgorou resident, 65.

The victim alerted his son of the incident, who rushed his father to the Famagusta General.

Attending doctors identified a wound on the right side of the man’s head and shoulder.

His condition was deemed serious but non-critical.

The man named the 65-year-old as the alleged shooter, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Police said the motive for the shooting has not yet been established.
