Cyprus Mail editorials ‘of great interest’ – 70 years

The second part of the 20th Century has proved most critical for Cyprus. Over those turbulent years Cyprus Mail has addressed very important issues and has upheld independence from party politics, thus providing information with clarity at both local and international issues.

After concluding my studies and briefly working in Manchester for two years I returned to Cyprus and started work as City Engineer with Limassol Municipality in 1965. The paper which most successfully replaced the Manchester Guardian was Cyprus Mail. Over the years I was kept well informed of local and international issues and feature articles from acknowledged authors and journalists.

I find the editorials always of great interest and enlightened especially on subjects that are often avoided. Two recent examples are: “Even 38 years after Makarios”; “Only Cyprus could turn refugee status into a hereditary right”
