US navy destroyer docks in Larnaca

The US navy’s missile destroyer ‘USS Donald Cook’ is anchored as of Tuesday at the Larnaca port, port chief Yiannos Lakkotrypis said on Wednesday.
The vessel arrived at the Larnaca port on Tuesday, Lakkotrypis said, but could give no information on the date of its departure, or its destination.
He added that every time a warship visits, increased measures are taken at the port.
The Cyprus News Agency(CNA) reported that the ship, whose homeport is the naval station Rota in Spain, was in the Eastern Mediterranean region and arrived on Tuesday morning at the Larnaca port for refuelling.
The arrival of French and American warships is not uncommon, the CNA said.
