On the afternoon of the same day, he will see the Executive Vice President for Global Business Development and Strategy at BG Group.

On Friday, Lakkotrypis will attend in Paris the Cyprus-France business forum, as head of a business delegation.

Later on the same day, he will have separate meetings with the CEO of Beicip, consultants to the government on hydrocarbons issues, and with the President of the Exploration and Production division of Total.

The French oil major has a concession on Cyprus’ offshore block 11, which lies just a few kilometres from a major gas field discovered recently in Egyptian waters.

The gas field could partly extend into Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone and block 11.
