Postman arrested for nicking cash from envelopes

A 36-YEAR-OLD postman from Limassol was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly stealing money from envelopes.

Police said that they started investigating the case when they received a report from the Postal Service after complaints from customers that mail wasn’t reaching them.

The suspect was arrested after police placed five envelopes with photocopies of bank notes in post boxes on his route. Reportedly, following his arrest he admitted taking money from envelopes and then throwing them away.

He is expected to be taken to court on Wednesday.
