Dust cloud to disperse

The dust cloud that has settled across the island for almost a week is expected to leave by midday on Sunday, followed by a drop in temperature.

Dust levels on Saturday subsided although they were still above the maximum limit of 50 microgrammes per cubic meter.

“Slowly slowly the dust is getting further away and it seems as though from lunchtime tomorrow (Sunday) it will completely abate with the winds we have,” Iasonas Christodoulou from the Met service told the Cyprus News Agency.

As of Sunday, the weather is expected to drop by five degrees Celsius to about 35C and 36C but the next few days will be followed with “more humidity at night and in the day as well as a little fog and low clouds during the mornings.”
