Church service at Yialousa after 41 years

For the first time in 41 years, refugees from Yialousa in the occupied areas were able to attend a a service at the church of Archangelos Michael on Sunday.

Around 1,000 people crossed in five buses to attend the service presided over by the Bishop of Karpasia and other clergy orignally from the town.

Yialousa mayor Panayiotis Hadjipandelisn had arranged for the neglected church to be spruced up by volunteers on Friday ahead of the service.
