Man arrested on suspicion of rape

Paphos police on Wednesday arrested a 20-year-old man accused of raping a girl, 16, which he had been dating in the past.

The case was reported early on Wednesday that she had been raped by the suspect with whom she used to go out with.

She told police that he had visited her at home to have a talk while her parents were away.

She refused and he took her to an open, isolated area, where he had sex with her against her will, the girl said.

The man was arrested at lunchtime Wednesday while the girl was examined by a state pathologist who found external injuries to her body.
