Man charged with shooting his dog

A 65-year-old man was charged in writing after he shot his dog at his Nicosia home with an airgun.

The dog was taken to a private dog clinic for treatment.

Police were alerted on Friday night after they received information of a shooting. Arriving at the scene they found the man had shot and injured his dog.

He gave police the airgun and a number of pellets after which he was charged in writing to appear in court at a later date.

Lakatamia police are investigating the case.
