Swiss tourist injured on quad bike

A 24-year-old tourist from Switzerland is in critical condition at Nicosia general hospital after a quad bike accident in Ayia Napa on Friday.

At about 8:30am on Xylofagou Avenue, the man crashed with a saloon car driven by a 74-year-old British resident.

Police said they were investigating the cause of the accident. However CyBC said the tourist was on the wrong side of the road when they collided.

He was taken to Famagusta hospital but due to the severity of his injuries taken to Nicosia General. arrived on the island on August 5 and is due to leave on August 12.

The 74-year-old did not have any injuries, police said.
