CyTA issues warning about fraudsters

CyTA is cautioning people to against fraudsters that are pretending to be company staff and offering alternative connectivity services to clients.

Lately, CyTA said it has received a number of questions on complaints over a ‘campaign’ in which people visit client homes posing as staff.

The frauds ask for information of their phone and internet connectivity asking them for a phone bill. They then proceed to suggest and inform them of alternative solutions.

CyTA said they have nothing to do with such a campaign and the people are not company staff. They will take action against anyone that tries to benefit using the company name, CyTA said.

It calls on the public to report such incidents to police or the Consumers Association and be particularly careful.
