Bar review: Decades nightclub, Paphos

If you feel like a boogie, a fairly recent addition to Paphos night scene is a fun place to go. Decades nightclub is found at the end of the Coral Bay strip in Peyia and is a popular choice with both visitors and local expats of all ages.

Entry to the venue is free and resident DJs, Jason Collins, Ben B and DJ E, keep the music pumping covering a wide range of musical genres including retro, commercial, R and B and garage.

Decades launched in August last year at a venue which was previously operated as Starlight club. As well as a host of resident and guest DJs, there is also regular entertainment with live music acts.

They are also making the best use of their space by offering other regular events throughout the week including Zumba and belly dancing classes.

Drinks are reasonably priced, and cocktails are a speciality, whipped up by the head barman Phil and only imported spirits are served.

There is also a large range of soft drinks, bottled beers, ciders, alcopops and another house special – vodka jelly.

If you’re not the designated driver for the evening and think you may be in the mood for a few drinks, there are regular drinks promotions available including ‘four for ten euros until 1am.’

The venue has a dance floor, something missing in a number of other clubs in Paphos, a comfortable seating area, a separate VIP area and a stage. It has a capacity for around 180 and also has a video projector which displays classic movies and sports.

It is also a great place to host a party and is available for private hire and functions, including children’s birthdays and charity events.
The staff are friendly and professional and this is a fun place to spend an evening and dance to your favourite tunes.
