Over 50,000 seafarers work on ships operated by CSC members

Around 55,000 seafarers are employed on board ships operated by the member companies of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber (CSC), it said on Wednesday in a statement to mark `Day of the Seafarer`.

The CSC said this year’s theme was ‘Career At Sea’ and pointed out the positive benefits of the seafaring professions as a career path for young people.
“In order to honour and appreciate those who work and successfully navigate the world’s fleet, transporting not only cargo but also progress and development, the Cyprus Shipping Chamber would like to express its appreciation and gratitude to these persons who truly contribute in ensuring a stable world economy and descent living conditions,” the Chamber said.
