Remand for child porn suspect (update)

A 21-year-old man from Larnaca was remanded in custody for four days on Wednesday n connection with possession of child pornography.

The man was arrested after Cypriot authorities were informed that someone on the island had been using an online network mainly used by paedophiles. The network was investigated by US authorities, which in turn notified EUROPOL.

The tip-off received on May 27. Authorities on the island checked the telecommunications records, which were found to belong to the suspect.

A search of his home found that his laptop contained 13 files with child pornography.
