Missing tourist found alive on day four of search

Pauline Ann Pidcock, 64, the British tourist who had gone missing in Omodos village, Limassol, was found in good health on Saturday in a ravine between Omodos and Potamiou – a village some five kilometres away.

Searchers reported that she was conscious and in contact with her surroundings, bearing only minor injuries, but she was taken to Limassol General for precautionary care.

Pidcock and husband Bob had arrived in Cyprus on May 9 for holidays.

They were part of a tourist groups visiting the village last Wednesday. Upon arrival to Omodos, Pidcock told her husband that she wasn’t up for the tour and stayed behind at the park where the bus had left the group.

As soon as she was reported missing, police set up search teams to find her. The effort proved fruitless until Friday, but the woman was finally found on the fourth day of searching.

Suffering from epilepsy and without her medications, fears for her wellbeing had been growing as each day passed. According to her husband, she had gone missing once more when back in England, for a couple of days.
