Fake identity

A 44-year-old man from Egypt was arrested at Larnaca airport early on Thursday morning trying to travel with someone else’s passport.

According to authorities, he arrived at the airport at about 4am trying to catch a flight to Paris where he presented a Sudanese travel document with a fake Schengen visa to passport control.

Police questioned the man who handed over his original Egyptian passport.

He was expected to be taken to Larnaca district office and be detained.
