Legends to sing about

By Maria Gregoriou

Paphos businessman Michael Antoniou will be giving us all of himself on Friday at the Art Bistro Agora in Limassol during a performance of his latest routine Legends of Music.

If you have seen and heard Antoniou before you will know that you feel like you are in the presence of Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash or Elvis. Although this still is true, the man behind the mike will be freshening things up a bit with covers from Barry White, Bill Withers, Adele, Eric Clapton and many more.

The Scottish Cypriot singer only came into singing at 46 when his son Mathew was born. Like any parent, Antoniou would sing his son to sleep.

As he has been compared to Sinatra – as mentioned above – Antoniou has said that “it’s all a bit overwhelming, but for me, it’s all just a great buzz, and if I can raise money for worthwhile charities, and make people happy just by singing a few songs, then I’m a happy man.”

You will also be able to enjoy a great atmosphere and a modern Mediterranean meze style menu which Art Bistro Agora has come-up with. Along with the food there is wine, and every wine on the menu has been hand-picked by experts, so expect some of the best.
