Historic cars get ready to rally

Next weekend sees classic and vintage cars take to the roads on the 27th International Historic Car Rally organized by the Antique Car Club of Cyprus LESPA-FIPA.

Nicosia Mayor Constantinos Yiorkadjis will flag the first car away at 9.30 am on Saturday 23rd May from the Iordanous parking place in Makarios Avenue Nicosia.

Covering a total of some 270 kilometres, the event is divided into two roughly equal Legs: the first leg covers 136 kilometres through Kapedes, Lefkara and Kellaki and will finish at Kapetanios-Odyssia hotel in Limassol at 5.30pm.

Sunday’s second leg starts at 10am and the competitors will do a loop through Pera Pedi, Malia and Anogyra to Pissouri before heading back to the finish at Kapetanios-Odyssia hotel at ten past five.

The entry fee for a two-member crew is €50, and entries close on Tuesday May 19th at 7pm, so there’s still time to join the fun.
