The downfall of neglect

As of Monday Opus 39 Gallery in Nicosia will be hosting Ioannis Macheriotis’ fourth solo exhibition under the title Dereliction.

The exhibition has a metaphorical yet timely meaning as its premise is set around that strange feeling we get when faced with, or entering, run-down spaces. Also what we see falling down around us in the physical world may tempt us to compare it with the corruption and decay of our own society during the last few years.
The gallery is ready to make it clear though, that with this, the artist is not trying to spread pessimism or rage.
