Education Minister pays Kuwait official visit

Cypriot Education and Culture Minister Costas Kadis is paying Kuwait an official visit, seeking to strengthen cooperation in educational matters between the two countries.

Kadis, who is in Kuweit following an invitation by his counterpart Bader Hamad Al Eisa “stressed during their meeting the importance he attributes in enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation in the area of Higher Education”, an official press release says.

He further highlighted the need to go ahead with the necessary procedures in order for Cypriot Universities to be recognised by the government of Kuwait. It was agreed that all the information needed will be sent on to the National Bureau for Academic Recognition of Kuwait.

The Cypriot minister, who is accompanied by ministry officials and academics, also met with the Dean of the University of Kuwait and with the President the Australian University of Kuwait.

During his meetings at both universities a willingness for signing Memoranda of Understanding was apparent with a view, among others, to promoting the mobility of students and academics and cooperation in European programmes.
