Larnaca improves disabled access along Phinikoudes

THE organisation for the rehabilitation of the disabled (POAA), expressed its satisfaction on Thursday for the completion of works for the creation of access points to facilitate movement along the Phinikoudes area in Larnaca.

The municipality built ten access points along the coastal front on Athinon Avenue to facilitate access for wheelchairs and placed small palls around the access points to prevent motor vehicles from entering.

“Work was completed within the framework of the redevelopment and improvement of the Phinikoudes pedestrian beachfront and of Europe Square near the Larnaca marina,” the municipality said.

The €489,000 project, that was also part of the municipality’s social solidarity programme, was implemented by the Larnaca District Development Agency and was co-funded by the Larnaca municipality and the European Fisheries Fund (EFF) aimed at promoting sustainable development in EU fisheries areas.
