Blind student who led parade to receive full scholarship

Andreas Solomou, the 17-year-old blind high-school student who led his school parade in the March 25 parade, will receive a state scholarship for his third-level education, President Nicos Anastasiades said on Tuesday.

Following a meeting with Solomou, Anastasiades told the press that on April 2, the Cabinet decided that the student would  receive a full scholarship from the Cyprus State Scholarship Foundation.

“Despite being born blind, he managed to lead his school parade and prove that when there is a will then possibilities are endless,” said the President.
