Remand in Paphos for firecrackers

A 24-year-old Paphos man was remanded in custody for two days in connection with possession of hundreds of firecrackers and a cannabis plant.

The man was arrested on Sunday morning during a search of his residence and car. Officers found 446 firecrackers and 239 fireworks along with a 50-centimetre cannabis plant, police said.

The suspect claimed the cannabis was for personal use while the firecrackers had been sourced from someone else and were meant to be sold for profit.
