Strutting for charity

By Maria Gregoriou

We all know children like to play dress-up so what better way to raise funds to help children than to have a fashion show where we can all enjoy a day out while also help bring a little Hope for Children.

Tomorrow the area outside the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation in the old part of Nicosia, on Socratous Street, will become a run-way for models to showcase clothes during the second Nicosia Street Fashion Show.

The first fashion show was held in 2013, and although the economic crisis made it very difficult for the event to be followed-up last year, 2015 seems to be bringing back a ray of hope to the streets of Nicosia and on the faces of all children helped by the organisation Hope for Children.

The event will be hosted by Elia Ioannidou who will be presenting the models from the Catwalk Model School and Agency and Elisa Georgiou, who was crowned Star Kypros 2013, along with Miss Kypros 2014 Rafaela Charalambous.

The shops whose clothes will be on show are Terranova, Piaza Italia (the new kid on the block on Ledra street that should be opening its doors to us in a few days), High Energie, Totsi and more.

So if you would like to see what is out there for your Spring collection, why not get the kids and spend the day in the old part of town while also helping Hope for Children continue its work to help children in need?
