Cannabis plantation uncovered in Kathikas villas

A BRITISH man and his wife were arrested on Monday for allegedly keeping a cannabis plantation in two adjoining villas in the Paphos village of Kathikas.
According to police reports, around 80 plants were found in an especially designed space.
The husband allegedly admitted that he was taking care of the plants on behalf of a third party but refused to give further information.
The plants, police said were about 1.50 tall and ready to harvest.
In the two villas, automatic irrigation systems were installed as well as lighting and ventilation systems, that facilitated the indoor cultivation of the plants, police said.
This is the third large indoor cannabis plantation found in Paphos in recent months. Some 360 cannabis plants were found 15 days ago in Simou and a few months ago a cannabis plantation was located in an apartment in Geroskipou.
