Briton arrested for sexually assaulting a minor 35 years ago

A 72-year-old British man has been remanded in custody for six days in connection with sexually abusing a minor over three decades ago in the UK.

The man, who lives in Tremithousa, Paphos, was arrested on Tuesday night on a European arrest warrant issued by British authorities.

He will remain in custody while authorities consider an extradition request.

He is wanted for sexual offenses against a minor, allegedly perpetrated in Britain between 1979 and 1986.
