T’S beginning to look a lot like winter, girls in boots, boys in footers, puddles of rain in which girls in boots can step, and the need to get warm is a reality for everyone. The price of petrol may have dropped somewhat, but there are more creative ways of getting warm instead of putting the heating on and yes, you guessed it (as this is the nightlife column), we will be suggesting a party where you can dance yourself into a nice warm state.
So get ready to get your dancing feet nice and toasty on Saturday in Limassol during the event entitled LOST in Touristiki, where UK label owner and artist REbEL, whose real name is Jonny Lawrence, will be on the decks providing music with lots of soul and his audience with lots of vibes.
REbEL is somewhat of a star on the horizon of the world of music, a status that he has been working hard to obtain by always giving his unique melody and twist to any sound he puts on his turn-table. He started playing in the Midlands after moving to Leicester from Buckinghamshire. He regularly played for the infamous Sonido parties and started his own event, Save The Pony. The party sounds didn’t stay within the Midlands for long, they soon started to grab the attention of labels in Manchester and London.
He started off with eighties electronic sounds and nineties dance music. From there he turned to house music and today he has managed to perfect the art of techno playing and transports everyone on the dance floor to another dimension with his vibrant rhythms and invigorating bass lines. He always ensures that this journey is complete while focusing on spinning vinyl.
Besides working on his own music and DJing, REbEL also has his own label, Tough Luck (co-owned with friends Chris Cue and Twon), a platform that represents tough and raw techno with soul.
REbEL will be joined by LOST residents Michel Fialas and Markus Eden, who will be playing alongside his brother Michael.
