Remand in connection with fatal traffic accident

A 27-year-old man was remanded in police custody on Saturday in connection with a road accident that cost the life of an Arab field worker in Psimolofou, Nicosia on Friday.
At the time of the crash, the deceased was riding in the back of a pick-up truck, along with two other workers, on their way to work.
Sources cited by the Cyprus News Agency said the individual arrested was the car’s driver, also a foreign field-worker, who had been breaking the law by allowing people to ride in the car’s cargo area.
He was on Saturday taken to Nicosia District court, which remanded him for four days.
Nicosia Traffic police continues to investigate the case.
