President returns to island in ‘very good’ health

President Nicos Anastasiades returned to Cyprus on Saturday afternoon and is in “very good” health, government spokesman Nicos Christodoulides has said.
In a written statement, Christodoulides says that “the President of the Republic Mr Nicos Anastasiades returned to Cyprus from Brussels, today at 5pm”.
The President, he added, “is in very good health”.
“The doctors have recommended that the President rests for the next 48 hours,” the spokesman added.
Anastasiades had travelled to Brussels to take part in the European Council meeting, where he suffered a prolonged nosebleed and was admitted to a hospital where tests established that he was suffering from hypertension. He spent Thursday evening in an ENT hospital for precautionary reasons after undergoing a nasal cauterisation.
