Newest tests find water unfit to drink again

A day after announcing that the water in Kalo Chorio was now fit to drink, the health ministry on Friday changed its mind and said supply to the village, and to Ayia Varvara, and Pera Chorio Nisou were again unfit for consumption.

Ayia Varvara and Pera Chorio Nisou were cleared two weeks ago, and Kalo Chorio on Thursday. However the ministry on Friday issued a new announcement saying fresh samples had been taken from all three villages and all came back deviating from acceptable chemical parameters.

Residents of the three outlying Nicosia villages are again advised not to use the water for drinking of cooking.
