Anastasiades-Kerry meeting in New York

PRESIDENT Nicos Anastasiades will meet with US Secretary of State John Kerry this Sunday in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, said a government source on Monday.
Anastasiades leaves for New York on Friday, and his first meeting will be with Kerry. The president is also due to meet with US Vice President Joe Biden and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on the sidelines of the General Assembly though the exact date has yet to be confirmed.
Turkish press on Monday quoted Kerry as saying that Washington was ready to take an active role in the solution of the Cyprus problem. Kerry discussed the Cyprus issue with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan during his visit to Ankara on Friday.
