Guilty of parking meter thefts

A PAPHOS municipality worker has been found guilty of stealing from parking meters some two years ago.
The man, 48, faced 186 charges in relation with stealing from parking meters and abuse of power.
Two years ago the municipality filed a complaint to police after the proceeds from the meters recorded a marked drop. Police were then led to the defendant who was tasked with collecting the coins from the meters.
The man, who has been suspended since, will be sentenced on Friday.
