Graduates to man polling stations for EU elections

Unemployed university graduates will be staffing polling stations in the May 25 European parliament elections, the interior ministry said on Thursday.

The ministry invited those interested to submit their CVs through its website: aps.elections.moi.gov.cy

A public draw will be held if the number of applicants is higher than the available positions in each district, a ministry announcement said.

The remuneration will be set by the Public Administration and Personnel Department.

The selected individuals will undergo training and will have to work at any polling station in their district, designated by the local returns officer.

Some 2,000 unemployed graduates staffed polling stations in last year’s presidential elections.
