Car parts theft arrest

POLICE in Paphos arrested a man in his 40s early Saturday morning in connection with stealing car parts and carrying a dangerous weapon.

At around 3.45am police received a call that a man had been seen stealing car parts from a mechanic’s garage in Paphos. Officers were dispatched to the scene and located the man who was on foot. After seeing the police, the man got in a car in an attempt to get away. Officers gave chase and stopped the man, police said.

In his car they found a gear box, two aluminium rims, other car parts and a knife.

Following questioning, the man was unable to give sufficient answers to police as to where he found the items and was arrested.
