Pistol and drugs found

POLICE in Nicosia found a loaded pistol and 800 grammes of cannabis in a field on Tuesday after rainfall uncovered the objects.

Drug squad officers were tipped off that suspicious-looking items had been spotted in a field, after rain had washed away covering soil. At around 4.30pm, the officers went to the field and found 800 grammes of cannabis, as well as a loaded pistol in a plastic bag. The drugs were confiscated and the pistol was sent for forensic testing.
