Men paid for hotel stay with stolen credit card

TWO 27-year-olds from Greece are wanted by police after a complaint of fraud was filed against them by a hotel manager in Ayia Napa.

According to police, the two stayed at the hotel from August 27 until September 2 and racked up a bill of €700, including costs for room, food and drink.

The hotel manager said the two Greek nationals made the booking over the internet, paying by credit card. Two days before their stay was due to end, the 27-year-olds gathered their personal items and left the hotel unnoticed.

On the afternoon of the same day, hotel management received notification from credit payment company JCC that the payment made by their credit card was cancelled after its owner, from Malaysia, claimed that it was used without his consent.
