Foreign minister heading to Luxembourg

Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides will Sunday be flying to Luxembourg to participate in the EU’s Foreign Affairs Council and the General Affairs Council, to be held on October 21 and 22, respectively.
The agenda of the Foreign Affairs Council includes issues related to the Eastern Partnership in view of the upcoming Summit in Vilnius, to be held in November, the developments in the Southern Neighbourhood, as well as the situation in Myanmar.
During the General Affairs Council, the ministers will discuss, inter alia, the decisions, resolutions and opinions adopted by the European Parliament at its recent meeting in Strasbourg, and will adopt Conclusions on the added value of macro-regional strategies.
The ministers will also discuss issues related to the upcoming Summit of the European Council, while the Commission’s Progress Report on Enlargement might also be discussed in the context of General Affairs Council.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs will return to Cyprus on October 23.
