Fake doctor extorting the elderly

Police are urging the public to be cautious after complaints were received from several people about a fake doctor calling people up to ask for money to treat their allegedly sick relatives.

According to the police several people have complained, The imposter mainly targets the elderly saying the money would be spent on medical care for their sick family members.

The fake doctor has so far targeted people in the Latsia and Yeri areas of Nicosia. Police said anyone contacted in such a manner should immediately report it or call the citizens hotline 1460.
