Postal woes never seem to end

I read with great interest your article “Mail delays are not our fault, post office insists” Sunday Mail, September 15.

To add to previous problems I have had, on July 29, I posted my great-granddaughter in the UK a necklace (not valuable so not registered) it has never been received. On the same day at the same time I posted my granddaughter in Australia a post card which arrived with no problem.

On August 26 I posted my granddaughter her birthday card and a cheque to the UK with a letter for her mother in a brown envelope about 6” x 9” (to disguise it was a card and therefore possibly money or cheque enclosed) and to date there is no sign of it. I have requested my bank cancel the cheque and will in future do an online transfer for birthday and Christmas money and send e cards, this of course will mean less use of the postal services.

These are articles were posted from Cyprus to the UK, so I wonder what the excuse will be for these. I have been unable to find any way to contact post office officials and when you go to the postal services website and click on ‘Contact Us’ it has no entries.
