LTV secures Premier League until 2016

FOOTBALL fans breathed a collective sigh of relief over the weekend when local subscriber channel LTV announced it would be retaining the rights to show English Premier League football until 2016.

LTV have as yet not released a statement and the channels top brass have not commented on the fact they would continue to show England’s top division.

Rumours had spread earlier this month when their online TV programme had not confirmed whether they would be showing Premier League football or not.

Subscribers were up in arms and had threatened to cancel their subscriptions if LTV did not retain the rights to English football.

In July, the channel had failed to retain the rights to show Formula One, with state broadcaster CyBC picking them up, leading fans of the Premiership to believe LTV might not be showing English football next season.

On Saturday the company simply posted a photo of the Premier League logo on their website with the words ‘Exclusively on LTV 2013-2016’.
