Drug remands

 

Famagusta district court has issued a five-day remand order for three 26-year-old men in relation to illegal possession of drugs in the popular Ayia Napa area of Famagusta.

Police monitored their car on tip off of suspicious activity on Friday night.

The three men were sitting in a parked car at a public car park in the heart of Ayia Napa, on late Friday night and in the early hours of Saturday.

Police officers with the drug squad YKAN were watching the car and a little after midnight on Friday/Saturday, one of the men noticed the police and made a run for it on foot.

Police managed to arrest all three, and discovered 12 grammes of cannabis in little bags and one gramme of cocaine in the car. The three men are Nicosia residents, one Cypriot and two Romanians.
